Gujarat is is very beautiful & colorful places. The state is bless by God with It is fertility, lush green forests, various enchanting rivers, beautiful plains, the hill ranges and exotic villages & friendly people. It is the second-most industrialized state after Maharashtra.

Another reason to visit Gujarat will have to be its rich culinary interests. Gujarti cuisine is one of the best tasting vegetarian cuisine in the world. Famous varieties include Dhokla, Khandavi, Khaman, Khakhara, Shakkarpara, Muthia, Bajri Vada and Bajri Dhebra. Gujarati sweets are also as famous, as are Gujarati Rotlas.

Third reason to visit Gujarat will have to be its rich shopping of exquisite clothes, textiles and hand made or woven or hand decorated fabrics and clothes, beddings and wall decorations.

Gujarat is a study in contrasts - Between Tribal Culture and Modern Cities, Between the Desert and the Seas and between a Rural based and Urban Economy.

Ahmadābād is the largest city in Gujarat and the sixth largest city in India . The city is also sometimes called Karnavati, an older name and as Amdavad in colloquial Gujarati. Ahmedabad enjoys a thriving cultural tradition, being the centre of Gujarati cultural activities and diverse traditions of different ethnic and religious communities.

Bhavnagar  
Once the capital of the princely state, Bhavnagar was founded in 1743 and is now a flourishing port on the Gulf of Khambhat. For the tourist it is a convenient base for visits to the town of Palitana and the sacred hill of Shatrunjaya. A 56 Kms. drive from Bhavnagar, Palitana lies at the foot of the Shatrunjaya Hill, with the Shatrunjaya River flowing to its south. The sacred hill rises in a crescendo of magnificent temples - 863 in all that soar in marble splendour to the top of the hill. The temples were built over an impressive span of 900 years with each generation of pilgrims making its contribution to the shrines of Shatrunjaya.The 600-meter climb to Shatrunjaya is usually made on foot. Dolis or lift-chairs are also available for the ascent.

Bhuj  
Bhuj was founded in 1548 AD by Rao Khengarji I, starting a dynasty of jadeja rulers that ruled over Kachchh for 400 years. And so, the old walled city of Bhuj is the most important town in the area. The place lies at the heart of Kutch and is linked by many roads to the rest of the peninsula. The cenotaphs, erected at the royal cremation ground as memorials to the former rulers and the CHHATRI of Rao Lakhpatji who died in 1761, are fine specimen of Kachchhi architecture. Tourists should have a look at the interior, which has a stone tablet in memory of the ruler and 15 of his consorts. The exterior walls bear sculptures of deities, hunting scenes, animals and couples in local Costumes.

Daman is a beautiful, stunning, striking, gorgeous paradise on earth. It  is traced to the 1st Century A.D. In the latter part of the XIII Century when the Trimmer Invasion expedited the fall of the Sultanate of Delhi. It was formed out of the dismembered Sultanate and was governed by Meli Moluk who governed the Throne of Cambay, under which jurisdiction it fell. However in ancient times it comprised of two Praganas known as PRAGANA KALANA PAVRI or the LOTUS OF THE MARSHLANDS separated from PRAGANA NEAR by a River Ganga originating in the Hills of Paugysauvar in the Kandesh region. The river passes through the Portuguese villages of Bildary and Gurvary, runs through in various direction through the Pragana NAGAR HAVELI, rounds the south of DADRA enters the Pragana of Kalana Parvi and Naer and meets the Arbian Sea.

Dwarka  
Dwarka is an important city for Hindu Pilgrimage. This was the kingdom of Lord Krishna. The entire city was revealed by marine excavations. The city of Dwarka, renowned in myth and legend, was once the capital of Lord Krishna's empire. He is believed to have settled there after leaving Mathura, thousands of years ago. The site is undoubtedly ancient but its association with Lord Krishna gives it a sanctity which draws millions of pilgrims. It is one of India's seven oldest towns or sapta puris, where he reigned for decades as leader of a growing clan.On the eve of the great battle of Kurukshetra, Lord Krishna set out from Dwarka to the site of the battle, to instruct Arjuna, the Pandava, and these instructions form the text of the Bhagavad Gita.

Jamnagar  
Jamnagar is a city and a municipal corporation in the Indian state of Gujarat. The city was built up substantially by Maharaja Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji Jamnagar has shot to prominence as Reliance Industries, India's largest private company established the world's largest refinery near Moti Khavdi village. It is also home to Essar Oil, another important oil refinery of India. The founder of the princely state of Jamnagar was the Jam Rawal, who descended on the northern coast of Kathiawar in 1535 A.D. Jam Rawal's father Jam Lakhaji ruled in Terabanu in Kutch. According to bardic chronicles, Jam Lakhaji had two cousins Tamachi Deda and Hamirji Jadeja, they envied his reputation for valor.

The history of junagadh is chequered by the rules of the Mauryans, Kshatrapas, Guptas, Vilabhis, Chudasamas, Gujarat Sultans and Babi Nawabs. Junagadh, at different times in history, was under the influence of four major religions. Hindu, Bhuddhist, Jain and Muslim. Both political powers and religious influences enriched the culture and created edifices leaving their mark on the architecture of Junagadh. Junagadh was the capital of the Junagadh State under the Muslim rulers of Babi Nawabs. In Gujarati, `Junagadh' literally means an ancient fort. The junagadh town is located at the foothills the sacred hill of Girnar and occupies a special place in the history of Gujarat.

Kutch  
Kutch is a fascinating land and no visit to Gujarat is complete without a sojourn to this peninsular district. Its remoteness has kept it a place apart for centuries. The people are very sturdy, business minded and seafaring. Kandla a major seaport of the country with its single point-mooring facilities happens to be the only free trade zone of India. Kutch produces some of Gujarat's most exquisite crafts like embroidery, tie die fabrics, enameled silverware and other handicrafts.

Palitana  
Imagine two peaks covered with shrines you have the Jain pilgrimage centre of Palitana (Bhavnagar district) atop the Shatrunjay Hill. There are 900 temples big and small on the two summits. The sculptures that adorn the marble temples present a feast to the eyes. You need not be a Jain to admire the spectacle. Generations of Jams all over the country have contributed their mite to make Shatrunjay Hill what it is today.It is said all the Jain Tirthankars, excepting Neminath, had attained nirvan on Shatrunjay Hill. This fact adds to the veneration the devout have for the place. The place is therefore called Siddhakshetra where one attains moksh.The mountain is associated with Rishabhdev, the first Tirthankar who is also known as Adinath.

Porbandar  
Porbandar was the last capital of the Jethwa Rajputs, who ruled this area for about 1200 years- shifting capitals from Ghumli, Ranpur and Chhaya. Present day Porbandar was established as a capital by Rana Sartanji in 1785 AD. Porbandar, originally a fortified town. with high rampart walls, bastions and five gates, lost its fortification by the order of Colonel Lally in 1888 AD. Even today, a ritual to circumambulate the fortification is performed by Hindus.

Rajkot was founded by Vibhoji, the younger son of Ajoji.  The city, also a former British government headquarters, has a number of impressive colonial buildings and educational institutions. It is famous for silver, textiles and a National weaving institute which promotes traditional weaves. The pleasant town is an important industrial area and a religious centre of the Arya Samaj.

Anshuman Gaekwad might be the best known of the distinguished royals of Vadodara (earlier Baroda) but the city owes its fame and prosperity to another magnanimous member of his family. Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad, who made Baroda a Sanskari Nagari (cultured city) as the locals would have it…and why not? Sayaji Rao lived in the magnificent Laxmi Vilas Palace. Faiyaz Khan of the celebrated Agra Gharana sang for him.
